Madeleine Ware wins the 2024 Levinson Prize from the Society for the History of Technology for her article manuscript “Kegel’s Perineometer: Reframing Vaginal Disability in the Postwar United States.”

Madeleine Ware has won the 2024 Levinson Prize from the Society for the History of Technology for her article manuscript “Kegel’s Perineometer: Reframing Vaginal Disability in the Postwar United States.” It was awarded at the international SHOT meeting in Chile.

The prize is given for the best unpublished article in the history of technology that brings together an analysis of a technology or technological device with the frameworks of social or intellectual history.
