Katie studies the history of public health and medicine in the United States and specializes in Deaf and disability history. Her current research examines the Army’s attempts to rehabilitate deafened soldiers during and after the world wars.
Katie graduated summa cum laude from California State University, Sacramento with a B.A. in American Sign Language/Deaf Studies and history. She then earned an M.A. in history, also at Sacramento State.
Katie also studies improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Training Center in NYC and practices her comic material on her favorite feline, Marlee Catlin.
