Charlotte Abney Receives SHS Award and Aurora Borealis Prize

Charlotte Abney has been awarded the SHS Award for Best Graduate Student Paper in History from the Society of Historians of Scandinavia and the Aurora Borealis Prize for Best Graduate Student Paper in Area Studies. Both awards are for her paper, “Defining the Swedish Landscape: The Geological Travelogues of Wilhelm Hisinger,” presented at the 2015 Annual Conference of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study (SASS). The Aurora Borealis Prize is sponsored by the Nordic Council, and is awarded each year to two graduate students for presentations in the fields of area studies and languages and literature, respectively.
